There is a lot of talent out there, playing in pubs, clubs and small festivals; you can get in close.

These are not portraits.  What interests me is not likeness in terms of face, (that is often obscured by lights and movement) but the energy of the performer that can best be captured by sketching- it has an immediacy that copying from a photograph can never have.

Posture or stance can often best express the individuality of each performer and vigour of line and shape can express what detail cannot.
